This is an absolutely gorgeous specimen of very-rare and extinct Sea Mollusk named Ammonite or Ammonoid. Stunning colored Opal-Like jewelry items are made from this iridescent organic gemstone, known as translucent Ammolite.
The beauty of this somewhat golden-beige fossil is hard to describe because it contains colors of orange-like red, blue and green in the sunlight. These renowned “Gemstones of the Sea” are estimated to be between 68 - 400 million years old. Because of its age, there are a few imperfections in the high-gloss glaze coating. Also see uneven surface in pictures. A very strong stone. A few imperfections are very normal with ancient relics like this.
